Brazilian voters have stated, one year before the 2022 elections, that the Amazon is a subject of interest and should be a priority for presidential candidates. This is the main conclusion of a survey by PoderData, commissioned by iCS, with 2,500 interviews across the country. For 71% of those interviewed, president Jair Bolsonaro is not working sufficiently to protect the Amazon, while 87% believe the same of the National Congress. More than half of Brazilians (58%) are more likely to vote for a presidential candidate with a specific plan to protect the Amazon.
