Local governments are essential in combating climate change and in the mitigation strategies. The meeting in Argentina involved iCS grantees
The C40 Summit in Buenos Aires brought together city leaders from around the world to discuss climate change, urban management and other topics related to governance. CDP, an iCS grantee, participated with the Executive Director, Rebeca Lima, and with the Senior Manager of Cities, States and Regions, Andreia Banhe, in panels, discussions and activities regarding the sustainable development of municipalities. As is well-known, local governments play a leading role in combating and adapting to climate change, because many of the sensitive points related to the topic are the responsibility of the cities and the states.
