How the policy and regulation of the electrical sector of California (USA) has support in the challenges of energy transition was the subject of the fourth webinar of the series Energy transition in the World, held by the E+ Institute. Andrew McAllister, commissioner of the California Energy Commission, was the guest and spoke about the ambitious decarbonization goals of the American state, as well as the enormous challenges of adaptation to the effects of climate change. For example, how the more intense droughts each year stimulate a new configuration of the electrical matrix to support the region’s demand. In his talk, Andrew addressed recent events, which include climate drivers, the immediate responses and the planning improvements adopted to guarantee the reliability of the electric sector in the future.
