A workshop of two days involved indigenous leaders in a discussion about the impacts of the climate on communities and to assess losses and damages in the territories

At least 120 indigenous leaders from the Macuxi, Taurepang, Wapichana and Waiwai peoples, including young people, children, women and men, participated in the Seminar held on October 11-12 by the Department of Territorial and Environmental Management (DGTA), with the Indigenous Council of Roraima (CIR), in the Araçá indigenous community. The objective was to ascertain the vision of the leaders faced with climate change, with reports about the interrelationships with the forests, time and space. Analyses were also performed on losses and damages in the Indigenous Lands. Learn more here
