A coal mining project close to Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul, is the target of protests by civil society organizations. Developed by Copelmi Mineração, the plant is at the application stage of the environmental licensing with FEPAM (the Henrique Luiz Roessler State Foundation of Environmental Protection). iCS is monitoring the process and studying how to support civil society in the mobilization.
