A representative from the Arayara Institute participated in the debates with contributions such as more efficient energy conversion and the containment of the growth of the oil and gas industry

The Legislative Chamber was the stage for a public hearing on Energy Efficiency in Brazil with the participation of special guests and the Arayara Institute, at the invitation of the Commission for the Environment and Sustainable Development. At the meeting, the main points of debate regarding energy efficiency in Brazil were addressed, starting from the context of the sector in the country, with the discussion of strategies to promote a just energy transition and the challenges involved in the process. The event was attended by, among others, the National Secretary for Climate Change, Ana Toni, the representative of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Rodolfo Saboia, and the technical director of the Arayara Institute, Juliano Bueno de Araujo PhD.

The latter highlighted the importance of containing the expansion of the oil and gas industry, with some urgent measures to be adopted, such as the electrification of the production platforms through renewable energy, more efficient energy conversion and the integration with renewable projects.
