This extension aims to secure key wins to strategically position the climate change agenda and Brazil’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in the next administration. These key wins include linking rural credit to environmental compliance, advancing the low-carbon agricultural plan, increasing compensation for legal deforestation and testing accountability mechanisms to process illegal deforestation, and to protect secondary vegetation.
