The objective of the current grant is to enhance the institutional capacity of Instituto Escolhas. Instituto Escolhas envisage to be a reference on economic analysis for sustainable development in Brazil. They want to support the production and outreach of studies on economic, social and environmental impacts of public policies for the transition to low-carbon economy in the Country.
Instituto Escolhas will elaborate 3 scenarios for the power sector in 2050 and will estimate their economic, social and environmental impacts. The intention is to subsidize debates and decision making process by government and private sector.
The results of the proposed study will be shared with key actors and stakeholders involved in the debate about the Brazilian transition to a low-carbon economy.
The project also aims to strengthen the image, the executive team and the Institutes’ governance.
