The Institute for Climate and Society is now part of the Forests People Climate Network, which is a global collaboration with an emphasis on the protection of tropical forests and those who supervise them. The FPC includes philanthropic donors, civil society and community organizations that support sustainable and just development while seeking to reverse deforestation. To achieve this, the network supports indigenous peoples, local communities and people of African descent who protect the forests.

What does the Network do, in practice? It mobilizes funding by engaging and informing donors, mapping and sharing funding flow, and identifying and prioritizing funding needs. It aligns collaboratively-developed strategies that are informed by the field with a comprehensive approach and the measurement of progress and learning. It ensures equitable support, by establishing trusted relationships, providing general operating support, and building capacity.
