The grantees from the portfolio of Low Carbon Economy of the Institute for Climate and Society met on November 25 to share their impact actions in 2019 and to define the agenda and efforts for 2020. The meeting, led by Ana Karolina Andrade, a facilitator from Impulso Emerge, proposed a series of dynamics to enable the participants to present and discuss their roles in the light of the challenge of promoting the transition to a low carbon economy. The grantees who attended the meeting represented the following institutions: CDP Latin America, Climate Ventures, Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (DIEESE), Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development (Idesam), Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) Pimp My Carroça, , Institute of Business Citizenship (ICE), Center of Integrated Study on the Environment and Climate Change (CentroClima), The World That We Want, Sitawi Finance for Good, What Design Can Do, Climate Observatory (SEEG), and World-Transforming Technologies (WTT).

” The meeting was an opportunity for people to get to know each other better. There were many possibilities for synergy. This arose from live and confident conversations, and learning about each other. For example, I was able to speak with Mariano Cenamo, from Idesam, and identified that he organizes an event for entrepreneurs in Manaus that are connected with another initiative that we are involved in with Mundo Que Queremos [the World We Want] in Belém. Consequently, we began to think about how we could do things together. I could also better understand at what point Dieese is in their data collection. This interaction occurred on several levels. We took part in an interesting activity of constructing a design-collage together, which helped us to develop trust in each other. I was also involved with some partner initiatives that we are beginning to do together. It was most useful to create a climate that was so conducive to exchanges. ” – Alexandre Mansur
