On November 23-30, the Rio Operations Center (COR) will hold “II COR Challenge: Smart City, Smart People – The Impact of Climate Change on the Bus System of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro”, an initiative of labgov.rio. The priority objective is to mobilize programmers and designers to develop monitoring solutions and the resolution of problems in the city’s bus system when it rains heavily, which causes impacts in the urban infrastructure and logistics. The intention is to identify bus lines in which the journey time and the intervals are most affected in order to quickly indicate viable alternatives to the residents of the city. The selected teams will have access to sensitive and restricted information such as the historic GPS data of the buses (GPS), the planned public transport system, and indices of rain and alerts in the city. It is being organized by the local government of Rio de Janeiro, ABMEN, and ITDP. Please register here .
