Held in partnership with the National Front of Mayors (FNP) and with support from iCS, Vital Strategies has released a video featuring “Five ways to improve air quality in Brazilian cities.” This was also the starting point for the webinar about evidence and experiences in air quality, urban mobility and health. It is fundamental to consider the subject more profoundly: in Brazil alone, poor air quality is responsible for over 60,000 deaths per year, with approximately 81% of the Brazilian population living in areas where the concentration of particulate material extrapolates the limits recommended by the World Health Organization.

During the panel, scientific and technical evidence was presented about the impact of transport on air quality and health, as well as positive public policy experiences, such as transport in Fortaleza and approaches to monitoring the air quality in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
