iCS combined with LACLIMA (Latin American Climate Lawyers Initiative for Mobilizing Action) and PUC-Rio to offer the free online mini-course “Law and Climate Change: Introduction and Updates.” The demand for the classes, which take place between April 7-30, was so large that the registrations had to be closed in advance. Coordinated by Caio Borges (iCS), Caroline Dihl Prolo (LACLIMA) and Danielle de Andrade Moreira (PUC-Rio), the course discusses the international climate regime of the UN and the Paris Agreement, the National Policy of Climate Change and the challenges of the climate agenda in Brazil, carbon pricing, climate financing for mitigation and adaptation, public adaptation policies (agriculture, environment and infrastructure), climate litigation and human rights and climate (vulnerable groups and climate refugees).
