The Management Committee of Energy Efficiency Indicators (CGIEE) is an inter-ministerial committee and also includes representatives from academia and civil society, and is responsible for defining the standards of energy efficiency applied to machinery and equipment. It may also be abolished, due to Presidential Decree 9759/2019, which ordered the closure of several commissions and other government committees. To avoid this occurring, and thereby guaranteeing the continuity of the implementation of the National Policy of Energy Efficiency, IDEC, IEI, the Laboratory of Energy Efficiency in Buildings, and iCS, as well as several other organizations, sent a joint declaration to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).
