Collection 2 of the project involves experts from Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay analyzing the change of land use in the region between 1985-2021

The South American Pampas lost 20% of its rural vegetation between 1985 and 2021, including 8.7 million hectares of native grasslands and 260,000 hectares of forests. This is one of the results of Collection 2 of the “Trinational Pampas: Annual Maps for the Period 1985-2021,” produced by a collaborative network of experts from Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, under the coordination of MapBiomas.
