Collection 2 of the project involves experts from Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay analyzing the change of land use in the region between 1985-2021

The South American Pampas lost 20% of its rural vegetation between 1985 and 2021, including 8.7 million hectares of native grasslands and 260,000 hectares of forests. This is one of the results of Collection 2 of the “Trinational Pampas: Annual Maps for the Period 1985-2021,” produced by a collaborative network of experts from Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, under the coordination of MapBiomas. This is the most complete collection ever published for the biome. More information can be found here
