The event in Brasília brought together traditional peoples and communities

The National Council of Traditional Peoples and Communities (CNPCT) held a Meeting of the Technical Chambers (CT) in Brasília, with members of the Interstate Movement of Babaçu Coconut Breakers. The meeting involved discussions about the areas of territory, infrastructure and human rights with the objective of creating a plan to ensure the survival of the traditional peoples and communities.

Afterwards, the National Secretary for the Traditional Peoples and Communities and Sustainable Rural Development, Edel Nazaré Santiago de Moraes, presented certificates recognizing the work of the women in the defense of the territories.

“This was a space where we could create a joint schedule for the plan of the CNPCT. More than building objectives, we are creating strategic actions from the perspective of those who live in the territories,” said Maria Alaídes in an article on the website of the Interstate Movement of Babaçu Coconut Breakers.
