Another agreement accepted by more than 100 countries, which represent over 70% of the global economy, was to reduce methane emissions to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The commitment is to reduce at least 30% of emissions from 2020 to 2030, which would reduce the warming by 0.2 degrees by 2050. The United States and China also reinforced their joint declaration to confront the climate crisis , dated April 17, 2021. The two countries reaffirmed their commitment to accelerate their actions in the decade beginning in 2020, as well as through cooperation in multilateral processes. This could have an effect on Brazilian exports to China.
