It’s time of transition! Alfredo Sirkis is no longer the executive-secretary of the Brazilian Forum of Climate change (FBMC), which is a body created by the ex-president Michel Temer in partnership with civil society organizations in order to formulate the country’s plan to meet the commitments made at the Paris Agreement. The decision came from President Jair Bolsonaro, who appointed Oswaldo dos Santos Lucon, adviser of the Secretary of Environment of São Paulo, as the new coordinator of the forum. The civil society and the organizations that comprise the FBMC hope that the search for Brazilian solutions to comply with the commitments of the Paris Agreement and to expand its ambitions is maintained. We welcome the new coordinator and thank Sirkis for all his dedication and work performed in recent years.
