On August 31, Minha Campinas organized an event with dynamic and thematic workshops for the population to express what they wanted for the public transport of the São Paulo city, from the cleanliness and safety of the buses, to the system of payments, prices, accessibility and the situation of the drivers. The backdrop of the campaign “No more waiting at the bus stop” is the intention of the city hall to contract the next companies that are responsible for the buses without consulting the inhabitants. “We will show that the population wants to participate and have a say. After all, it is not the mayor, the secretaries, and the councilors who spend hours every day on public transport, and yet they plan to decide the future of the city on our behalf,” says a passage from the text inviting people to the meeting on social networks.
