The establishment of a Regulated Carbon Market begins to gain support from the new government

With 4 bills under discussion in the National Congress, and growing support from the private sector, the Carbon Market was the focus of a workshop held by iCS, CEBDS, IDS and Talanoa at the start of April.

The meeting included the Secretary of the Green Economy of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) and the productive sector in order to reinforce the support of society and the private sector for legislation that establishes emission limits and a system for the trading of licenses. The Secretary of the Green Economy pointed out that the position of the new government will be built in partnership with the other ministries involved in the matter and with the broad participation of civil society and the Brazilian productive sector.
