The publication reports on mechanisms and measures against the impacts of solar and wind power plants in communities

Based on a provocation by the Northeast Power Plan, about how Brazil can generate and transmit renewable energy without, during the process, causing injustice, environmental racism in the territories, violating human rights, causing deforestation, having an impact on  fauna and biodiversity, putting food production at risk, expelling rural communities from their lands, and establishing abusive contractual relationships, the document “Socioenvironmental Safeguards for renewable energy” was produced by several interested parties. The publication reports on protection mechanisms and measures based on the impacts and damages experienced by the populations affected by solar and wind power plant projects. The motto of the group that created the content, composed of people from the affected communities, their advisors and researchers, was: “Nothing about us without us.” More details here.
