The topic was discussed at a seminar in Brasília

Brasília hosted a workshop about “National transition planning to support sustainable development.” The event, held on May 24, was organized by CETEX of the London School of Economics (LSE), WBCSD, CEBEDS and Talanoa and was attended by representatives from different ministries.

The proposal was to discuss the preparation of a framework for a systemic approach in the transition planning and to examine the applicability of this framework to current initiatives, such as the Ecological Transition Plan.

The participants discussed the need for coordination between the different government departments and their policy instruments and ways to encourage the participation of the private sector and to attract investment to this agenda.

This first round of meetings identified the governance aspects that will be taken into consideration in the review and included notes for the potential application of the framework to national initiatives.
