The online seminar aims to provide solutions for a greener economy in municipalities

The Democracy and Sustainability Institute, an iCS grantee, organized an online panel to discuss the role of public managers in the promotion of a green economy. The seminar is the last of five events forming the “Compass for the 2024 Elections.” It is a report that contains a common agenda for Brazilian municipalities with the challenges and opportunities of the climate agenda.

With the theme “Green Economy,” the objective of the meeting was to debate the importance of integrating environmental conservation, social equity and the improvement of the lives of Brazilians by strengthening the sustainable local economy. The flooding in Rio Grande do Sul was highlighted at the seminar.

The speakers included Carmynie Xavier, an environmental manager and Climate Policy Regulation specialist at iCS.
