The Webinar “Unlocking the agenda of the Bioeconomy,” organized by Instituto Escolhas, in partnership with the Institute of International Relations and Foreign Trade (Irice), and supported by the Revista Interesse National, was held on June 1. It debated a model of economic and social development for the Amazon region that offers, at the same time, the protection and preservation of the forest and its biodiversity with the generation of jobs and income, and essential high-quality public services that are viable from an economic, political, public and business point of view. The dialogue between the public, private and academic sectors is fundamental to put into practice an executive, business or public policy agenda for this new model of the Bioeconomy. See below for more information about the agenda and the participants, and watch it in full here in PORTUGUESE .
The Instituto Escolhas has already highlighted this subject with the launch, at the end of 2019, of the study “A new economy for the Amazon: the Manaus Free Trade Zone and the Bioeconomy,” which mapped the economic effects of the model, estimates of the required investments and the solutions for the most critical bottlenecks to unlock the Bioeconomy.
