Climate Week NYC was not only full of debates but also publications. One of them was by the Brazil Coalition on Climate, Forests and Agriculture, which published the study “Beef Chain Traceability in Brazil: Challenges and Opportunities.” The conclusion is that Brazil can guarantee the production of beef that is free from illegal deforestation. To achieve this, it is necessary to integrate information between the Animal Transport Guide (GTA), the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) and the respective legal mechanisms that allow joint validation. It should also follow all the requirements established by the agreements entered into in the Brazilian System of Traceability of the Bovine and Bubaline Chain (SISBOV) and by the Conduct Adjustment Terms (TACs) between the Federal Prosecution Office (MPF) and the meat processors that operate in the Amazônia Legal.
