Bill 191/2020, which seeks to free up economic activities in indigenous lands, was urgently approved by the federal deputies in March, but lost support after the extensive movement by artists and civil society, including widespread protests by indigenous people. However, nothing is preventing the subject from returning to the agenda at any time. One of the indications is the analysis by the Senate of Draft Resolution href=”https://www12.senado.leg.br/radio/1/noticia/2022/05/04/projeto-preve-criacao-da-frente-parlamentar-amazonica-de-mineracao”> (PRS 14/2022) that established the Broad Parliamentary Front of Support to Mining in the Amazon States, authored by senator Chico Rodrigues (União-RR). It will bring together the pro-mining senators and federal deputies in the traditional and indigenous territories and strengthen Bill 191.
